Term 3 News Update

Hello readers,

Our names are Charlotte M and Jana. We are going to be filling you in on what we have been working on during the start of Term 3.

Literacy
During our Literacy, we have been completing our weekly spelling, reading strategies and several writing techniques. Each day we have been engaging in literacy rotations where each group is reading a different novel. After we have read a chapter, we answer questions about the book. We also have a class novel that we are trying to get through by the end of this Term. We love reading in Room 25!

Maths
During our measurement sessions, we have been focusing on measuring capacity, volume area and perimeter. In number, we have been learning how to convert equivalent decimals, fractions and percentages. For example: 1/4 = 25% = 0.25.

HASS
During HASS, we have learnt about refugees, migrants, federation and democracy. Refugees are people who are forced to leave their country because of war or danger. Migrants are people who move freely from one place to another. We also learnt that Australia is a representative democracy. Sir Henry Parkes is the Father of Federation and is famous for his speech called Tenterfield Oration.

Science
In Science, we are learning about energy sources and electricity. Primary energy sources come from renewable and non-renewable sources. Electricity is a secondary energy source.

Lastly, we would like to congratulate our new Student Representatives for Term 3: Kiara, Kai, Kobe, Parth, Natalia and Rowain! :)
